Herat to Host Quran Week

--A Quran week will begin Saturday, August 29, in the city of Herat, Afghanistan.
The first in a series of Quran weeks planned to be held by Iran cultural centers in different countries, it will include Quranic exhibitions, workshops, and contests.
The exhibitions feature Quranic books and software products as well as Quranic arts such as calligraphy, Moarraq (marquetry) and stone carvings.
A joint exhibition of Iranian and Afghan cultural and art products is also to be held at Iranian consulate in Herat. On the sidelines of the exhibition, which will later move to the cities of Mazare Sharif and Kabol, there will be daily Quran competitions, Quranic forums and courses on Tajweed and memorization of the holy Quran.
