-- To attend mourning ceremonies on Arba’een (40 days after the Day of Ashura), about 15 thousand Bahraini pilgrims will travel to the holy city of Karbala, Iraq.
According to Ansar website, Salah Al-Maliki, Bahraini ambassador to Iraq said: “embassy of Bahrain in Baghdad in addition to the consulate of the country in the holy city of Najaf would be willing and ready to welcome Bahraini visitors who will arrive in Iraq by the next two weeks.
“The embassy has set up a temporary office in Jerash Hotel in Karbala to meet the needs of the pilgrims and relate them to the officials in charge,” he added.
Amin Al-Madhoob, director of a Bahraini tourism center in Iraq said most of the pilgrims will enter Iraq through airports in Baghdad and Najaf, while hundreds of them will take buses and enter Iraq via Syria or Kuwait.
It is noteworthy that about 24 thousand pilgrims traveled from Bahrain to Iraq last year to attend the Arba’een ceremonies. 13 thousands of them were Shia Muslims from Saudi Arabia.
