Head of the Dar-ol-Quran Kareem Organization Mehdi Qarasheikhlu addressed the gathering, stressing that ensuring accuracy of the published text of the Quran requires cooperation from all those involved.
He said sometimes lack of care on the part of some has led to distribution of Quran copies with errors.
Qarasheikhlu referred to his organization’s cooperation with the Culture Ministry in this regard and said supervising the Quran printing and publication will be done more seriously.
He regarded the role of Iran in printing and publishing the Quran as important and said Iran is now known as a leading country in terms of promoting the culture of Quran.
Ahmad Hajisharif, the organization’s deputy for supervising printing and publication, was another speaker at the event. He stressed the need for high quality Quran printing and urged that Iranian calligraphy scripts, which are easier and much more interesting to read to Iranians' eyes, be used in printing the Quran.
“In a meeting with head of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, sources of emulation grand Ayatollah Safi Golpayegani and grand Ayatollah Sobhani also urged using Iranian calligraphy scripts for accuracy of reading,” he stated.
Hajisharif also said that the Islamic Development Organization is the only authority to issue permission for printing and publishing the Quran.
