Pir Muhammad Naqib-ur-Rehman, custodian of Eidgah shrine in Rawalpindi, stated this while addressing a meeting of religious scholars in connection with Ashura at Eidgah Sharif on Friday. “The great sacrifice of the martyrs of Karbala will be motivating forever the righteous people to struggle for the glory of Islam,” he said.
The custodian of Eidgah shrine highlighted the need for demonstrating the brotherhood and harmony to maintain peace and order during Muharram-ul-Haram.
Condemning the attack of the Nato forces on outposts of the Pakistan Army in Mohmand Agency on November 26, Pir Naqib-ur-Rehman said the whole nation is united to every sacrifice for the security of the country shoulder-to-shoulder with the armed forces of the country.
Divisional Khateeb Ghulam Ali Qamar, Mufti Muhammad Suleman Rizvi, Allama Bashir Ahmed Sialvi, Hafiz Iqbal Rizvi, Qari Salim Shahzad, Allama Zahoor Elahi Qadri, Maulana Rafiq Shakir, Maulana Shahid Mansoor and other religious scholars attended the meeting.
Other speakers also highlighted the need for Muslim unity and said that to maintain unity and peace during Muharram-ul-Haram, it is necessary that people from all schools of Islamic thought respect each other’s sentiments and desist from fomenting the religious hatred. They said that the peace committees and administration should be extended full cooperation.
In the end, Pir Muhammad Naqib-ur-Rehman prayed for the unity among Muslims, progress, prosperity and security of the country and liberation of Palestine and Kashmir.
