Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Eslami also stressed that mourning Imam Hussein’s (AS) martyrdom promotes Velayat.
He said Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) are saviors of mankind from the perilous chasms of this ephemeral life. “They guide us and show us the path of truth and we can achieve salvation by following them.”
Hojat-ol-Islam Eslami reminded that holding mourning ceremonies for Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) is for reflecting on their attributes and further introducing them to people.
“By attending such ceremonies, families get purified and help their children learn more about the Husseini (AS) culture.”
He noted that attending Husseini (AS) mourning ceremonies affects people’s lives, turning them into better persons morally.
He quoted Imam Khomeini (RA) as saying that Muharram and Safar (mourning ceremonies) have kept Islam alive, saying that in these two months (on the Islamic lunar calendar), Islam is presented in social, not individual, terms.
