Lebanon’s resistance movement Hezbollah has strongly condemned a US film insulting Islam as an attack on religious belief which it said reflected US and Zionist policies.
Hezbollah said in a statement on Wednesday that the film was an "immoral act which represents the highest degree of aggression against the highest human rights, respect of beliefs and sanctities".
It also said that the film aimed to stir tensions and hatred between Muslims and Copts in Egypt and reflected "the true position of the American-Zionist alliance towards Islam and Muslims" rather than an individual act of expression.
Hezbollah also rejected official US criticism of the film as meaningless, stressing that official US condemnation no longer fool anyone.
The group urged Muslim organizations to react to the insulting movie. It also called on the United Nations to introduced new legislation criminalizing anti-Islam acts just like the laws that criminalize anti-Semitism.
"Where is the Arab League ... Where are the Muslim peoples regarding these repeated abuses? What about human rights organizations and the United Nations?" Hezbollah asked.
The anti-Islam movie insults Islam’s Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The US ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed in an attack on the US consulate in Benghazi over the US-produced sacrilegious film.
Protesters against the anti-Islam film also attacked the US embassy in Cairo on Tuesday night. There are also reports of protest near the US embassies in Sudan, Tunisia and Morocco.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the blasphemous movie is called "Innocence of Muslims", which was made thanks to Zionists donations totaling USD 5 million.
