According to IQNA’s branch in South Asia, the program was organized by Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen (MWM) of the country in cooperation with family of Ali Raza Taqvi, a martyr of the protest who sacrificed his life in defence of sanctity of Prophet of Islam.
It was addressed by Hojat-ol-Islam Abuzar Mahdawi, representative of MWM, Hojat-ol-Islam Sadeq Raza Taqvi, brother of the martyr and Ghazi Ahmad Noorani, head of the country’s Association of Muslim Scholars who talked about the status of martyrs, importance of belief in martyrdom and Islamic societies’ views towards martyrs and martyrdom.
They also stressed the important role of martyr Ali Raza Taqvi in dissemination of Islamic culture.
The program included Quran recitation by a number of eminent Qaris of Karachi and elegies performed about Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) by Sebt Ja’far, Shadiman, Hashim Raza and Shoja’ Razvi.
Raza Taqvi, active member of MWM, had reached the U.S. Consulate to register a peaceful protest against the U.S.-made anti-Islam film "Innocence of Muslims". Security officials there opened straight fire upon the peaceful protestors leaving Raza Taqvi dead and several others injured.
