The pivotal objective of ceremonies held to mourn the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions in Karbala should be enhancing insight and knowledge about the Imam’s (AS) uprising.
This is according to Ali Shahini, Chancellor of Payam-e Nour University, Shahroud Branch, who added that the principles and teachings of the uprising should be promoted during the mourning processions.
“If we want our youths, students, and other groups of people to benefit from these mourning rituals in the (Islamic lunar calendar) months of Muharram and Safar, we should act in a way so as to be mourners of Imam Hussein’s (AS) martyrdom in its true sense.”
He went on to say that Payam-e Nour University, Shahroud Branch, plans to organize programs in the month of Muharram to mourn the martyrdom of the third Imam (AS) in Karbala.
