Director general of Tehran Municipality’s cultural affairs department said the municipality plans various programs during the lunar month of Muharram.
Ebadollah Ramezani told IQNA that the programs aim at introducing the beautiful aspects of Imam Hussein’s (AS) uprising and convey the messages of Ashura to the youth.
He said on the days of Tasua and Ashura (9th and 10th days of Muharram) as well as on Arbaeen (anniversary of the 40th day after martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions) and the 28th day of Safar- which marks the demise anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH)- special tents will be set up in 22 parks of the city to raise public awareness and insight about the uprising of Imam Hussein (AS).
They will feature exhibits of books and works on Ashura, as well as educational workshops. Also, questions about the event of Ashura will be answered in these tents, Ramezani noted.
He added that commemoration of the martyrs of different neighborhoods in Tehran is among other programs for Muharram.
The programs also include putting up posters and banners with themes related to Ashura and Muharram, producing video-clips on Ashura and the message of Karbala, publishing Muharram special booklets and organizing Tazia performances (special plays featuring the events of Ashura), he went on to say.
