Speaking to IQNA on the occasion of Muharram, which marks the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), Ayatollah Ghorban Ali Dorri-Najafabadi added, “We should learn the real Taqwa (God fearing) from the school of Imam Hussein (AS) and take the teachings of Ashura as our role model.”
He described Muharram as the month of self-sacrifice and selflessness and Ashura is a spring of light that washes darkness and blackness from one’s soul and gives him purity.
The Friday prayer leader of Arak regarded Taqwa as a strong fortress that protects man against sins and impurity, adding that Imam Hussein (AS) is the manifestation and the best teacher of Taqwa.
He also said Karbala is the scene of confrontation between the front of the truth and that of falsehood.
“Neither is Karbala limited to a certain land nor is Ashura limited to a certain day,” he underlined.
Ayatollah Dorri-Najafabadi urged all the mourners of imam Hussein (AS) martyrdom to follow the Seerah of the Imam (AS) and try to realize the main messages of the Ashura movement.
“In this historical juncture when the Ashrua culture is the model for the Islamic Republic of Iran, the guidelines set by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution should be followed and the opprutunity should be taken to boost insight and renew allegiance with the ideals of Imam Hussein (AS).”
