Iran’s Islamic Revolution Anniversary Celebrations in Islamabad

The Iranian Cultural Center in Islamabad on Monday began celebrations of the 34th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
Addressing a press conference here, Iranian Cultural Attaché Taqi Sadqi said that the day of Imam Khomeini’s (RA) return to Iran marked the beginning of the Ten Days of Dawn, which culminated with the anniversary of the victory of Islamic Revolution on February 11.
He described the revolution as the beginning of Iran’s sovereignty and the governance of religion and its people.
He said that Iranians had scheduled different programs to celebrate the event by honoring Imam Khomeini’s (RA)historic return and the memory of the revolution’s martyrs.
Mr. Sadqi said Iran commemorates the special occasion every year for 10 days called Daheyeh Fajar (Ten-Day Dawn) by holding film, theater and music festivals and cultural exhibitions in the cities around the country.
He said that Cultural Consulate of Iran had arranged a week- long cultural festival to celebrate the anniversary, which would be opened on Wednesday (February 6) in Islamabad at the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA).
