Iranian Reciters Unrivaled in Tunisia Int’l Quran Competition
Iranian Quran reciters are unrivaled in the international Quran competition of Tunisia.
Mehdi Shayeq, who came first in the 3rd edition of the competition last month made the remark in an interview with IQNA, noting that Iran’s representatives won the first title in the past two editions, too.
He said Amin Pouya bagged the first prize in the first edition and Hassan Danesh came first in the second edition of Tunisia international Quran competition.
Shayeq regarded the level of the third edition of Tunisia’s Quranic event as high but not as high as the Islamic Republic of Iran’s International Quran Competition, which is annually held by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization.
The prominent Quran reciter said he wishes to attend and win a top rank in Iran’s international Quran contest, too.
He said representatives of 24 countries took part in the 3rd international Quran competition of Tunisia and referred to the contenders from Indonesia, Libya and Morocco as his main rivals.
He described the level of judgments as good and said Quran experts from countries like Tunisia, Morocco and Libya made up the jury panel.
