Quran Conference for Character Building Held in Delhi
Syed Abdullah Tarique, founder trustee of World Organization of Religions & Knowledge (WORK), Rampur, in his opening remark talked in detail about the reasons and remedies of ignoring Quran by Muslims, the Two Cricles reported.
Several Islamic scholars from India and abroad put their views for the large gathering from different parts of the country at the conference held at the Kedar Nath Sahni Auditorium in New Delhi on November 30.
Dr Aslam Abdullah from Las Vegas charted out the characteristics practiced by Muslims – such as cheating, lying and scrimping in business and so on – that was in contrast with the teaching of Quran.
Dr Aslam Parvez, director Quran Centre, who hosted the conference, described the present situation of Muslims in every walk of life and cited many examples from Quran that Muslims must learn from.
He also talked about responsibilities of each and every individual in the society. “Being an elder member of my family, the responsibility lies upon me to teach everybody in my family according to the teaching of Quran,” he said.
Sheikh Maulana Kaleem Siddiquei, president of Jamiat-e- Shah Waliullah, Phulat, called people towards Allah’s path i.e. dawath, which has been his area of expertise. In his concluding remarks, he appealed to all Muslims to stick with the teaching of Quran and take guidance from it in their character building.
Large number of women too attended the conference.
