Quran Memorization Competition to Be Held in Qatar

TEHRAN (IQNA) - A competition on memorization of the entire Quran will be held for Qatari students today, April 12.


According to raya.com, 72 Quran memorizers of the country will take part at the competition.

The participants have successfully completed the educational courses held by the Quranic centers affiliated to the Quran Sciences Section of the Dissemination and Religious Guidance Office of Qatar’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.

The 72 Quran students succeeded to memorize the entire Quran in 2014.

Salim Salih Al-Marri, an official with the section, said that the Quran memorizers will be honored and awarded certificates in a ceremony to be held in May.

He noted that the number of Quran students of the centers is increasing every year and stressed it is the result of precise planning of the Quran Section of the ministry and application of new technologies and methods in Qruan memorization and evaluation of the students.

He added that the section aims to identify the students’ capabilities in different Quranic field and encourage them to memorize the Quran’s verses and develop their talents.

The official also highlighted the important role of parents in promotion of the students’ Quranic levels and asked for their support and cooperation with the section in this respect.
