According to BAB website, Mansour ibn Muhammad Al-Samih, secretary of the country’s national and international Quran competitions, said that representatives of each country should be introduced to the secretariat not later than the first day of the holy month of Ramadan (June 18).
He said that the 37th edition of the international competition will be held in the Islamic lunar month of Muharram (October-November) in the holy city of Mecca.
Providing an opportunity for Quran memorizers to compete and develop their Quranic skills and encouraging the younger generation to get closer to the Divine Book are said to be the main objectives of the competition.
Al-Samih added that top participants will be awarded Hajj pilgrimage.
The winners will be honored in a ceremony to be held near the Grand Mosque, he concluded.
