According to Qaf news agency, Al-Quds Mosque of the city hosted the festival, which was organized on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
The program began with Quran recitation by Mahmoud Muhammad Abdul Wahhab Al-Tantawi, the famous Qari from Egypt.
Rafi’ Al-‘Ameri, from Iraq, Muhammad Safar from Sudan, Farajullah Al-Shadhili from Egypt and Bin Abdulhaq from Malaysia were some other eminent Qaris who recited Quranic verses in the festival.
The mosque is one of the greatest Islamic centers in South Africa which has not only offered space for the community to fulfill their basic religious obligations but serves as a source of reference on Islam by providing scholarly opinions and assisting in hosting seminars and empowerment programs.
