According to hqmi.org, the competition was organized in cooperation with the Holy Quran Memorization International Organization.
43 Quran activists competed in memorization of the entire Quran and memorization of 15 and 5 Juzes (parts) of Quran.
Winners were awarded in a ceremony at “Al-Fath” Mosque in Cape Town city of South Africa.
The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Riyadh Fatar, first deputy of the Cape Town based Muslim Judicial Council and a number of representatives of Islamic organizations, Quran teachers and students.
The importance of such Quranic competitions, the virtues of Quran memorization and its positive effects on Quran memorizers and the Muslim society of South Africa were highlighted in the ceremony.
