Baku Hosts Ashura Youths Conference
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The second edition of “Ashura Youths” conference was held on the weekend in Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
A number of prominent clerics addressed the event, elaborating on the objectives of the uprising of Imam Hussein (AS).
The speakers stressed the need for keeping alive the memory of the Ashura uprising.
They also talked about the growing Islamophobia trend caused by the enemies of Islam and the Quran, especially the Western arrogant powers.
The conference was held a day after Ashura, the tenth day of the lunar Hijri month of Muharram when Shia Muslims all over the world commemorate Imam Hussein (AS) and his faithful companions who were martyred in the battle of Karbala in the year 680 A.D.
