European Institutes Invited to Attend Festival on “Imam Sajjad (AS)”

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Organizing Committee of the 3rd edition of “Tarateel Sajjadiyya” International Festival has invited a number of European charity institutes to attend the program in Karbala, Iraq.

According to the website of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine, the festival will be held in the holy city during the lunar month of Muharram (October).

Religious and cultural figures from different sects, races, religions and schools of thought will participate in the international event.

Seyyed Jamaluddin Shahrestani, head of the committee, said that the program aims to introduce at an international level Imam Sajjad’s (AS) "Treaties of Rights” as the best human treaties.

He added that Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalayi, the custodian of the holy shrine, has stressed the necessity of the better organization of the festival and interaction with humanitarian institutes of the world to get them more acquainted with the teachings of the infallible Imam (AS).

Shahrestani went on to say that official invitations have been sent to a number of European charity and humanitarian institutes and they have announced their readiness to attend and cooperate in holding the festival.
