Behnam Azad, a cultural official at the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Shanghai, told IQNA that Beigi Dehaqi will be in the city from the 17th to 23rd day of the holy month.
He said the Qari will recite the Holy Quran at Ramadan programs in different mosques in Shanghai during his stay.
The programs are planned to be held in mosques after Maghrib and Isha prayers and Iftar (fast breaking), he noted.
Azad added that Beigi Dehaqi will also take part in Quran and supplication recitations at Iran’s Consulate General.
Muslim in China represents some two percent of the population, meaning more than 25 million of Chinese are adherents of Islam.
