TEHRAN (IQNA) – Members of the panel of judges for the 38th edition of international Quran competition in Saudi Arabia were selected.

The contest is slated to be held in the lunar month of Muharram (October) in the holy city of Mecca,.

According to elbrqnews.com, it will include categories such as memorization, recitation and interpretation of Quran.

The Grand Mosque in Mecca will host the Quranic event from the 21st to 25th of Muharram.

Mansour ibn Muhammad Al-Samih, secretary general of the competition, said that the panel will comprise Ahmad ibn AliAl-Sudais, dean of the Quran Faculty of Medina Islamic University, Amin ibn Idris Falata, head of the Quranic Recitations Department of the Islamic Disseminations Faculty of Umm Al-Qura University in Mecca, Ali ibn Muhammad Al-Zein Mabrouk, director of Khartoum’s International Quran Memorization Award, Muhammad Qilich, teacher of Quran Recitation Styles at the Religious Institute affiliated to Turkey’s Dianat Organization, and Sheikh Ali Hassan Al Ali, from Dubai’s Office for Islamic Affairs.

The panel’s members are selected from memorizers of the entire Quran, aged 25 to 60, who master the principles of Tajweed and at least one Quran recitation style.
