According to Palestine news agency, 3000 girls and boys in various parts of the country have participated in the competition.
Sheikh Yusuf Id’is, Palestinian minister of Awqaf (endowments) and religious affairs, said the participation of so many students in the Quranic event shows the extent of attention paid to the teaching of Quran and disseminating the culture of Quran reading and recitation in the society.
He added that the ministry plans to open more Quran teaching centers to help raise a faithful generation.
The official urged the participants to act upon the teachings and injunctions of the Divine Book to elevate the nation.
"Teaching the Quran to children and teenagers of the country is essential and one of our prime responsibilities”, the minister stressed.
He also highlighted the success of Palestinian Quran activists in the international arena and noted that Palestinian representatives have won many top ranks in different international Quran competitions.
