According to Qaaf news agency, the program was the first annual Quran recitation session organized by the Zahu al-Quran Institute of the governorate.
It was held with the motto of "faithfulness to the blood of Iraqi martyrs (in the fight against terrorism)”.
Renowned Iraqi Qaris like Usama Karbalayi, Ammar al-Kanani and Abdullah Basim were some of the other Quran activists reciting verses from the Holy Book at the session.
The Zahu al-Quran, which has been launched recently, is affiliated to the Quranic Assembly of Maysan governorate.
Headed by prominent Quranic figure Ali Madhi, it has been founded to promote Quranic activities in Maysan.
Quranic activities have significantly developed in Iraq since the 2003 overthrow of former dictator Saddam Hussein.
