The manuscript has been recently donated to Iran’s National Library on the occasion of Eid al-Ghadir, the library’s public relations office said.
It was calligraphed in Naskh script by a calligrapher named Ahmad Neyrizi in the year 1714, during the reign of the Safavid dynasty (1501–1736) in Iran.
All pages of the copy have beautiful Taz’hib (illumination) designs and other decorations.
It was once repaired during the Qajar era (1789–1925) during which more adornments and designs were added to it.
The manuscript has been donated to the library by Nasrollah Tavakkoli Neishabouri.
