Ashura Exhibition Held in Georgia
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Iranian Cultural Center in Georgia mounted a photo exhibition on the occasion of Arbaeen (the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his household) in Marneuli, a city in south of Georgia.
According to the center, a large number of Georgian Shia Muslims visited the exhibition, which was hosted by the City Hall on November 19.
30 photos featuring mourning rituals and ceremonies in different parts of Iran during Muharram (the first month in the lunar Hijri calendar) were displayed at the exhibition.
Disseminating the message of the Ashura uprising and introducing its philosophy and various aspects to the Georgian society were among the objectives of the exhibition.
The photos have been taken by Iranian photographer Ahmad Taji.
