TEHRAN (IQNA) – The sixth edition of an international conference on the Holy Quran was held in Algeria on Saturday.

According to Radio Algeria’s website, the University of Amer Abdul Qadir in the city of Constantine hosted the event.

It was organized by Ibn Badis Scholarly Institute in cooperation with the religious affairs committee of Amer Abdul Qadir Mosque.

A number of scholars and Quranic figures from different countries addressed the conference.

Also speaking was Algerian Awqaf and Religious Affairs Minister Mohamed Isa who underlined the need for Muslims to gain a good understanding of the teachings of the Quran, which will help them follow a good path in life.

He also stressed the need for more attention to proper methods of teaching the Quran.
