100 Memorizers Attend Quran Contest in Islamabad

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Dawah Academy of International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) organized “Quran Memorization Competition” at Faisal Masjid in which more than 100 Hufaz participated in various categories of the competition.

The competition was divided in three categories of memorization of 10 parts, 20 parts and the entire Quran.  

Teachers of the participating students who won were also given 20 thousand each.

On the occasion competition of Husn e Qirat was also held. Qari Muhammad Ikhlaq Madni, Maulana Qari Abdul Ghafoor, Qari Abdur Rehman and Qari Abdur Rehman Hafeez were the judges for the competition.

Concluding ceremony of the competition was presided over by the Acting President IIUI Dr. Muhammad Bashir Khan, while it was also attended by Chairman Pakistan Madrisa Education Board Dr. Amir Tehsaan, Director Dawah Academy Dr. Sohail Hassan and other officials of the academy.

Dr. Muhmmad Bashir Khan said that Quran is solution to all problems and youth should seek guidance from the Holy Book. He urged that such competitions be held with more frequency so youth could get more involved learning from teachings of Quran.

Dr. Sohail Hassan also spoke on the occasion and said that the academy is mulling to conduct this competition on province level as well.
