TEHRAN (IQNA) – An exhibition of calligraphy and painting-calligraphy works by Iranian artist Abdollah Moqaddasi has been mounted in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The expo has been received very well by the people of the Russian republic.

The artworks feature calligraphy and painting-calligraphy with Quranic and religious themes, IRNA reported.

The exhibition, which kicked off on January 21, will run in Tatarstan’s capital until Sunday.

According to Alibeman Eqbali Zarch, head of the Iranian consulate in Kazan, such programs are effective in enhancing friendship among Muslims.

He stressed the importance of conveying sacred messages through the medium of art.

He also thanked the National Cultural Center of Kazan for cooperation in mounting the exhibition.

Tatarstan is a federal subject of the Russian Federation, located in the Volga Federal District south of the country. The majority of the republic’s population are Muslim.
