TEHRAN (IQNA) – Top participants at a competition on Quranic concepts in Quetta, Pakistan, were awarded in a ceremony held on January 30.

The competition was held at the end of an educational Quranic course organized by the Islamic Center of Alamdar Quranic Cultural Academy in Quetta.

Talib Mahdi, Asghar Ali and Akbar Ali, three Quran activists of the city, respectively won the first to the third ranks in the contest.

Addressing the awarding ceremony, Hojat-ol-Islam Hasanayn Vujdani, Friday prayer leader in Quetta, highlighted the importance of getting acquainted with the concepts of the Divine Book.

He narrated a Hadith from the Holy Prophet (PBUH) saying that: "Enlighten your houses with recitation of the Quran. If in a house the Quran is recited a lot, the blessing gets so much in it and the inhabitants of that house will be in the vastness (of livelihood) and they shine for the inhabitants of the Heavens, just like the stars shine for the inhabitants of the earth.”

He appreciated the organizers of the course and expressed hope that acting upon Quranic teachings will spread in the society.

Hojat-ol-Islam Shubair Saeedi, expert in Quranic concepts, Seyyed Mohammadreza Agha, member of the Provincial Congress of Quetta and Professor Taj, eminent cultural figure of the region, were present at the ceremony.
