70-Year-Old Jordanian Woman Memorizes Quran by Heart
TEHRAN (IQNA) – An old Jordanian woman managed to learn the entire Holy Quran by heart at the age of 70.
Hajiya Raeifa al-Samadi, who is not able to read and write, memorized the Quran by listening to Quran recitation tapes, al-saa.net website reported.
It took the old woman over four years to learn the entire Quran by heart.
The al-Yarmouk satellite TV channel recently broadcast a program featuring al-Samadi’s efforts to memorize the Holy Book.
The Holy Quran is the only religious Scripture that is memorized by its followers.
Innumerable persons in every Muslim community have memorized the Quran since the first day it was revealed.
The Quran has 30 Juzes (parts), 114 Surahs (chapters) and 6,236 verses.
