TEHRAN (IQNA) – The recitation category of the international Quran competition for the visually-impaired came to an end on Saturday.

The panel of judges announced Mohammad Bahrami from Iran as the winner of the top prize in this category.

The runner-up was Ahmet Ali Sarakaya from Turkey while Muhammad Abdul Shahid Baqir from Iraq came third, ISNA reported.

The internal Quranic event has been underway at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (prayer hall) since Friday.

The category of memorization of the entire Quran is still underway.

Tehran is also hosting four other international Quran contests, including those for seminary students, school students and women.
