Int’l Quranic Studies Conference Slated for Monday

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The holy city of Qom, 150km south of Tehran, will host the 10th international Quranic studies conference of Iran on Monday.

According to Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mohammad Naqib, the secretary of the conference, 16 papers will be presented at the one-day scholarly event.

He told IQNA that Imam Kazem (AS) Seminary School in Qom will host the conference and the papers will be presented in two panels.

He added that 20 foreign guests will be among the participants at the conference.

The papers selected to be presented are by scholars from Iran and countries like Malaysia, Syria, Australia, Russia, Italy, Zimbabwe, the US, India and Lebanon, the cleric noted.

They have been selected by the scientific committee from a total of 421 papers submitted to the secretariat of the conference, Hojat-ol-Islam Naqib stated.

He went on to say that a collection of the papers submitted to this and the previous editions of the conference will be unveiled at the closing ceremony of the international event on Monday evening.

Like previous years, the international Quranic studies conference is held simultaneously with Iran’s International Quran Holy Quran Competition, which kicked off in Tehran on Thursday.
