At the end of the competition, the panel of judges announced Saeed Parvizi from Iran as the winner of the top rank in the category of recitation.
Iraqi and Swedish Qaris, Falah Zalif and Rahmatullah Bayat, came second and third, respectively.
In memorization of the entire Quran, Iran’s Mousa Motamedi was the first-rank winner, according to the panel.
Yasser Ahmed from Syria was the runner-up and Abdullaj Muhammad Adam from Sudan came third.
The international Quranic event kicked off in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Thursday.
Four other international Quran competitions, namely those for women, the visually-impaired, seminary students and school students, were also held in the country this week.
A total of 276 Quran activists from 83 countries took part
in the five competitions.
