Bu Sa’ad Omar, who served as a member of the panel of judges in Iran’s 34th International Holy Quran Competition, told IQNA that Quran activists from different countries and with different background take part in such contests.
He added that they get acquainted with one another and this helps strengthen unity and solidarity among them and in the Muslim Ummah.
Bu Sa’ada also hailed Iran for holding the competition and said he felt at home from the first moment he arrived in Iran.
He said that it was the third time he was in Iran for the international Quran contest, noting that while in the two previous editions he was a guide to Algeria’s representatives, this time he served as an arbiter in the category of recitation.
As for his Quranic activities, Bu Sa’ada said he teacher Quranic sciences at one of Algeria’s universities and has written a number of books on Quran recitation styles.
Iran’s 34th International Holy Quran Competition was held the capital Tehran in late April and early May.
A total of 276 Quran memorizers and reciters from 83 countries took part in the Quranic events.
