TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 25th Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition, one of the Muslim world’s largest Quranic events, opened in a ceremony here on Monday evening.

A number of officials. Including Culture Minister Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri, and Quranic and cultural figures were present at the inauguration ceremony.

It began with playing of Iran’s national anthem followed by recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Hamed Alizadeh, winners of this year’s edition of Malaysia international Quran contest.

Next, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Reza Heshmati, the head of the exhibition, delivered a speech in which he noted that the motto of this year’s expo is "Quran, Ethics and Life”.

He said 20 governmental bodies have cooperated in organizing the 25th Quran exhibition, hoping that the event will serve as a venue to promote contemplating the Quran and its teachings.

Also speaking at the program was Salehi Amiri who, referring to the motto of the exhibition, said the Holy Quran is a mirror of all ethical values and virtues.

He also underlined that the teachings of the Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) should be used for the society to become an ethical one.

Later in the opening ceremony, three Quranic works were unveiled. One of them was a Quranic animation movie produced by the culture ministry’s Quran and Etrat Deputy.

The other two were a collection of religious songs and a documentary on the life of Toshihiko Izutsu (1914-1993), a Japanese scholar, philosopher and thinker and author of many books on Islam and the Quran.

The Quran exhibition will be underway until June 16 and people can visit it at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (prayer hall) every day from 5 PM to midnight.

The event features different sections such as Quranic activities, arts, international, children and young adults, Hijab and Ifaf, and books.

Simultaneously, a large number of other Iranian cities are hosting Quran exhibitions at the local level.
