TEHRAN (IQNA) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei stressed that one should be vigilant against the US and never trust it.

Leader Warns against Trusting US

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi and his accompanying delegation met with Ayatollah Khamenei on June 20, 2017.

At this meeting Ayatollah Khamenei hailed Iraqi nation unity and held: I praise the unity and harmony of political and religious currents in Iraq in their fight against Daesh (ISIL or ISIS). One should be vigilant against the US and never trust them because they and their allies in the region oppose Iraq's independence, identity and unity.

His Eminence praised the Iraqi elected government for their efforts against the terrorist takfiris by stating that: Daesh is escaping from Iraq and this admirable achievement is the result of internal unity and integrity in Iraq—which was accomplished thanks to the Iraqi government relying on Iraqi faithful youth.

Ayatollah Khamenei warned everyone of US plots to wreak havoc in Iraq, further adding that: No chance should be given to the US to sow discord or conflict in Iraq. The US forces should be prevented from intervening in Iraq on the pretext of education or other issues, Khamenei.ir reported.

The Leader of the Revolution advised the Iraqi Prime Minister, saying ‘Do not trust the US at all, as they're looking for any opportunity to strike a blow to the Iraqi nation!’

Ayatollah Khamenei accused the US regime for having supported and funded the terrorist group and said: Daesh was created by their (USA's) support and funding; hence they want ISIS in the palm of their hands; controlling them to remain in Iraq.

The Leader of the Revolution stressed that Iran strongly opposes the partitioning of Iraq.

His Eminence stated: The Islamic Republic of Iran—as Iraq's neighbor--opposes implications that a referendum should be held to partition Iraq. The Islamic Republic considers those who fuel such ideals [partitioning of Iraq] to be opponents of Iraq's independence and identity.
