TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quranic exhibition was opened in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur on Monday night.

It showcases Quranic calligraphy works by Iranian and Malaysian calligraphers as well as calligraphy-painting and Tazhib (illumination) works by several Iranian artists, the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) reported.

Iran’s Ambassador to Malaysia Marziyeh Afkham, the country’s Cultural Attache Ali Mohammad Sabeqi and a number of scholars and university students were present at the opening ceremony.

Some of the data-x-items on display at the exhibition are calligraphy and Tazhib of Surah Yaseen of the Holy Quran by Iranian and Malaysian artists created on Wednesday at a joint Iran-Malaysia festival.

The "Joint Quran Festival; Islamic Calligraphy of Iranian and Malaysia Artists” was organized by the Iranian Cultural Center in Malaysia on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

In addition to the exhibition, it included several workshops and lectures on Islamci calligraphy.

The Quranic exhibition will run until Saturday, June 24.
