“Tarateel Sajjadiyah” Festival Planned in Iraq

TEHRNA (IQNA) – The 4th edition of “Tarateel Sajjadiyah” cultural festival will be organized in Iraq with the participation of religious, social and international figures and media representatives from 15 countries.


According to the website of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine, "Imam Sajjad’s (AS) Treaties of Rights: Real Bases for Peaceful Coexistence” is the motto of the event.

The program will be held by the Astan on 24th of Muharram (October 15) at the courtyard of the holy shrine.

Jamaluddin Shahrestani, the head of the organizing committee of the festival said that cultural and religious figures from Britain, France, America, Turkey, Bangladesh, Ghana, India, Singapore, Ukraine, Malaysia, Morocco, Algeria, Syria, Libya and Tunisia will participate in the program.

A book exhibition at Bayn al-Haramayn (the distance between the holy shrines of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS)), as well as research and poetry reading sessions and competitions are some of the sideline programs of the festival.

He added that 16 books about the fourth infallible Imam (AS) will be unveiled during the festival.

The third edition of the cultural international program was organized last year with the participation of representatives from France, Lebanon, Tunisia, Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Jordan and Iran.
