TEHRAN (IQNA) – Hundreds of Muslims protested against terrorism on Monday – just four days after the Barcelona attack left 13 people dead and at least 120 injured.

Members of the Muslim community gathered at the famous Plaza de Catalunya, which is just yards from where a van ploughed into pedestrians on Las Ramblas.

Men and women were seen crying as others held up large banners and posters condemning the violence on Thursday, the Daily Mail reported.

People held up signs which read ‘Musulmans contra el terrorisme’ –Muslims against terrorism in English.

It comes as police dramatically killed the terrorist who killed 13 people when he deliberately drove the van into crowds.

Officers shot Younes Abouyaaqoub, a 22-year-old Moroccan national, after he became Europe’s most wanted man.

He escaped the scene on foot before hi-jacking a car, stabbing its driver to death and ramming into a police blockade near Sant Just Desvern, outside Barcelona.

Abouyaaqoub spent four days in hiding before being spotted by a Catalan vineyard owner in the town of Subirats.

The protest also came just days after the attack in Camrbils, a seaside town south of Barcelona.

The attack killed one person and wounded several others and it ended in a shootout with police, who killed five attackers.
