According to al-Alam news network, Daesh terrorists aboard 12 military vehicle launched the attack on Hashad al-Shabi forces on Tuesday night.
They faced a decisive counterattack by Hashd al-Shaabi, in which a number of vehicles were destroyed and several Daesh members were killed.
It came after the terrorist group’s heavy defeat in Tal Afar.
On August 20, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, also the commander-in-chief of Iraqi forces, declared the start of an operation to retake control of Tal Afar and nearby areas from Daesh terrorists, and the city was liberated last week.
Tal Afar was the last Daesh stronghold in Iraq’s northern province of Nineveh.
