Iran to Attend Int’l Conference on “Museums” in Karbala
According to Al-Kafeel website, the two-day program has been planned by the Museum of the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine.
The organizing committee of the conference announced that 63 papers have been submitted to the committee from different parts of Iraq and a number of other countries.
The committee has evaluated the works and selected 20 paper, of which 16 will be presented at the conference.
The scholarly program will be attended by researchers, scholars and academic figures from Egypt, Germany, Japan, Iran and Iraq.
The conference has been planned in line with the specialized programs of the Astan aiming to preserve the cultural and civilizational heritage, support religious institutes in opening specialized museums, improve the museums’ activities, paving the way for the relation between museums in Iraq and other countries and introduce the role of museums in economy.
