A security source in the province said the houses of a number of people in the city were also raided on Sunday.
According to the director of one of the centers, it currently has 250 Quran learners and has so far trained 9 memorizers of the entire Quran.
Hssani al-Quzat, the governor general of Maan province who ordered the closing of the centers, said they offered lessons other than those designated by the education ministry.
