TEHRAN (IQNA) – A group of Quran memorizers of the Dar-ol-Quran of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine held a mourning procession in Karbala on the Day of Ashura.

Quran Memorizers Hold Mourning March in Karbala

According to dar-alquran.org, the Quran activists including the Quran teachers and students of the Astan (custodianship) of the holy shrine, took part in the mourning ceremonies in Bayn al-Haramayn (the distance between the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS)) in Karbala.

The group also marched in the distance taking the Holy Quran copies on their heads to stress the relation between the uprising of Imam Hussein (AS) in Ashura and the teachings and principles of the Holy Quran and Divine values.

It is annually organized by the Dar-ol-Quran of the Astan to mark the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions in the year 680 AD.

The Dar-ol-Quran also held a major Quranic session on the night of Ashura on September 30 at the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS).
