The ceremony was organized in the city of Kilis by Syria’s al-Risala Society in cooperation with Kilis Province’s Dar al-Ifta and Syrian Scholars Council.
The province’s Mufti Mahmoud Qaratappa and head of al-Risala Society Mazin Ibrahim addressed the event.
80 Syrian women and 20 men who have memorized the entire Quran received gifts and certificates at the ceremony.
Thousands of Syrian refugees have fled to neighboring countries, including Turkey, since foreign-backed militancy spread in the Arab country in 2011.
The Holy Quran is the only religious Scripture that is memorized by its followers.
Innumerable persons in every Muslim community have memorized the Quran since the first day it was revealed.
The Quran has 30 Juzes (parts), 114 Surahs (chapters) and 6,236 verses.
