Preliminary Stage of Al-Mustafa Int’l University Quran Contest Underway

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The preliminary stage of the Quran and Hadith competition of Al-Mustafa International University is being held in different cities in Iran as well as in other countries.

According to Mehdi Taqiabadi, the head of the university’s Quran and Hadith Department, 1700 students of the university are taking part in the contest.

He told Irna that it is held in two sections, oral and written, in different categories such as Quran recitation, memorization and Hadith.

The official added that the holy city of Qom is scheduled to host the final round of the competition in February, concurrent with the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory.

Al-Mustafa International University is an Iranian academic center with many overseas branches for non-Iranian Muslims who seek to study Islam and related subjects.

The university offers graduate, post-graduate and PhD courses in such fields as Fiqh (jurisprudence), theology, history of Islam and interdisciplinary fields with an Islamic approach.
