TEHRAN (IQNA) – The closing ceremony of the 15th edition of Syed Junaid International Quran Award will be held in Manama, on Wednesday.

Al-Fateh Islamic Center in the Bahraini capital will host the event, in which winners of the contest will be awarded.

They will receive certificates and cash prizes amounting to $360,000.

The ceremony will also include recitation of verses from the Quran by the top participants, as well as senior Egyptian Qari Ahmed Ahmed Noaina, who is the competition’s guest of honor.

The contest began on November 18 with the participation of representatives from 54 countries.

They competed in categories such as Quran memorization, recitation and Tajweed.

Six Quran experts from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Egypt, Algeria and Chad were the members of the panel of judges.

The contest is annually organized by the Society for Serving the Holy Quran, which is based in Manama, in cooperation with Syed Junaid Alam Institute.
