According to Anadolu Agency, a large number of Bosnian citizens and tourists in the capital city have participated in the program, held on the occasion of the birthday anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Farid Davoudovich, a senior leader of the Council of Muslims Union in Sarajevo, stressed the necessity of commemorating the auspicious occasion in order to deepen the love of the Holy Prophet in Muslims’ hearts.

He noted that Muslims should review the Nabawi Hadiths continuously and act upon his teachings in their lives.

Other cities of Bosnia will also host the ceremony until December 15 with sideline programs including book fairs and religious, social and cultural seminars.

The 17th day of the month of Rabi al-Awwal in the lunar Hijri calendar is believed by Shia Muslims to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), while Sunni Muslims regard the 12th day of the month as the birthday of the last prophet.
