The exhibition will open in New York on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
According to the al-Quds al-Arabi daily, its motto is "Palestinian People, Everlasting Roots and Infinite Horizons”.
The 100 Palestinian personalities whose photos are displayed at the expo are prominent figures in such fields as poetry, philosophy, cinema, painting, literature and music.
Riyad Mansour, Palestine’s ambassador to the UN, said the expo is aimed at drawing the attention of the international community to the need for efforts to restore the rights of the Palestinian people, including the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their motherland.
He added that a meeting is also planned to be held at the UN headquarters on the occasion to discuss the need for an end to the occupation of Palestine.
The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is a UN-organized observance.
Every year events are held at the United Nations headquarters in New York, as well as at the United Nations offices at Geneva and Vienna on the occasion.
In 1977, the UN General Assembly called for the annual observance of November 29 as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People (resolution 32/40 B).
