Islamic Unity Conference Planned in Senegal

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 2nd edition of an Islamic unity conference will be organized by the Iranian Cultural Center in Senegal on December 13.

 “Islamic Unity” Conference Planned in Senegal

 

According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, “the role of Islamic unity in realization of a world without violence” is the theme of the program.

The Grand Mosque of Dakar, Senegal's capital, will host the conference.

It will be attended by representatives of Sufi orders, Shia leaders and a number of political, cultural and academic figures.

Mi’ad Tawasheeh (religious singing) group from Ahvaz, southwest of Iran, is also planned to perform Tawasheeh programs at the event.

It will be dispatched to Senegal by ICRO’s International Dissemination center.

Senegal is a country in West Africa with a population of around 14.5 million. More than 90 percent of the country’s population is estimated to be Muslim.
