40 Iranian Quran Activists to Be Honored at Ceremony Slated for February

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 12th edition of an annual ceremony for honoring Iran’s top Quranic personalities will be held on February 2, an official said.

Ahmad Hajisharif, a deputy of the Dar-ol-Quran Kareem Organization, said that like previous years, the event will be held during the Ten-Day Dawn celebrations, marking the anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.  

He said while the names and number of those to be honored have not been finalized, it is expected that some 40 Quranic personalities will be lauded for their Quranic activities and achievements.

They will include Quran translators, interpreters. Teachers, managers of Quran institutes, Qaris and Quran memorizers, Hajisharif added, according to Fars.

He went on to say that a number of the country’s senior officials will be invited to attend the ceremony.

Last year, 39 Quranic figures from different parts of the country were honored at the 11th edition of the ceremony in Tehran.
